Ron Hart and I were elected Twerp and Twerpette in 1966!,married in 1969 and graduated from Oregon State University in 1971. We went to Michigan State University for Ron to work on a PhD in Anthropology and had a daughter, Jemila in 1972. We went to Yemen to do Ron's field research in 1974, loved it, and spent 5 years working on various projects. Ron died in 1980 at the age of 31. I worked in Seattle in a Asian community garden and Jemila and I went back to Yemen in 1983,where I worked as a advisor. We went on Safari in Africa and traveled around the world to return home.In 1990 Jemila graduated from high school and went to Alaska to work and I joined Peace Corps. I worked in Haiti and in Ecuador in agro-forestry and had the best job hiking through tropical forests and jungles with the villagers I worked with. In 1994, I returned to the states and worked in landscaping and with the City of Pullman taking care of city gardens. In 2000, I met Dave Tharp, traveled to New Zealand, moved to Palouse, Wa. and we were married in 2002. We retired in 2006 and spend a lot of time fly fishing and floating rivers and lakes. At home, I have a acre of flower beds and love gardening. Life is good. I think you will all enjoy meeting Dave, a New Jersey boy.
